This is a Middle Grade Speculative Fiction book! I am very excited about this concept!

If you didn’t know, speculative fiction is a genre of fiction that encompasses works involving imagined elements! This book takes place in our world, but with a bit of magic.

Two Descriptions

WORDS

Tsundoku (積ん読)

Acquiring reading materials but letting them pile up without reading them.

Komorebi (木漏れ日)

The word for sunlight filtering through the leaves of trees. It captures the beauty of light and shadow in a forest.

Betsubara (別腹)

Literally "separate stomach." It describes the phenomenon of being full after a main meal but still having an appetite for dessert.

Psithurism

a rustling or whispering sound, such as leaves in the wind.

Diaphanous

Adj. (especially of fabric) light, delicate, and translucent.

Ineffable

(adj) Too great or extreme to be expressed or described in words.

Mellifluous

A sound that is sweet and smooth, pleasing to hear.
