I wrote words and typed THE END

THE BLUE TYPEWRITER BLOG

MY TAKE AWAYS FROM WRITING 30k IN A MONTH

I did it.

I wrote a book in one month.

Some of it was not my best,

Some will never make it to the last draft,

And some of it was really good!

But hey! I wrote words! (31k to be exact.)

When I signed up I decided to do this. I wasn't sure what to expect.

But now, a day after CWM. I have learned a lot about myself and my writing.

WHAT I LEARNED.

🍂 I can write 1k in 30 minutes [max]

🍂 I now know how to push through writers block

🍂 I was able to explore my writing style

And personally my biggest one:

🍂 I learned how to get over perfectionism and just get words on the page.

🍂 I learned that if I push myself, I really can do it! I can write a book! P.S. This is the first full length project that I actually like!

THANK YOU TOO…

Thank you too my Parents and siblings for cheering me on!

Thank you to the YWW for running this.

And of course, thank you Lord for giving me inspiration and ideas!

WHAT NEXT?

Now I am going to step aside from this for a week and finish a Short Story. Then, this November I am going edit it, while outlining a new novel.

SO WHAT IS THIS NOVEL ANYWAY?

Good question! Keep you eyes out for an email in the next week detailing more about my finished book.

THE BLUE TYPEWRITER BLOG Overcoming Perfectionism as a Writer Just to be clear, a WIP is term that writers use for an unfinished manuscript. How will my book *Gestures to messy, plot hole filled, rambling, unorganized WIP* become this? *Grabs book off bookshelf* Ah my friend, good question. Perfectionism is one of the writers biggest roadblocks. That feeling that our writing isn’t good enough. But guess what… IT IS GOOD ENOUGH! God loves it because you made it, and that is what matters most!...
